4. Social Inclusion
Social Policy falls under the responsibility of the Ministry for Social Policy and Children’s Rights. In 2024 the Ministry published the National Strategy for Poverty Reduction and Social Inclusion 2025-2035. The strategy prioritises well-being, inclusivity, and social support to reduce poverty and exclusion through targeted interventions and collaboration.
Also, in 2021 the National Youth Policy: Towards 2030 highlighted youth inclusion as one of its principles stating that “barriers and impediments to young people's active participation in the political, educational, social and economic spheres should be removed and positive steps taken to help ensure that young people are not directly or indirectly excluded.” Moreover, one of its eight strategic goals focused on inclusion advocating for the provision of proactive and responsive regional, local and schools-based supports and services that enable young people to learn, work in and contribute to their communities and the wider society and create an environment that fosters equality, inclusion, educational and economic opportunity, and democratic participation and accountability.
